India's cheapest EV is now a Tiago. So is the cheapest car with a 360-degree camera.

Tata's facelifted twins bring new faces, new trim names and a ₹4.69 lakh start, but both records sit at the same ₹6.99 lakh.

  • At ₹6.99 lakh the Tiago.EV Smart is the cheapest electric car in India.
  • At the same ₹6.99 lakh, the Tiago Creative is the only car under ₹7 lakh with a 360-degree camera.
  • The petrol car starts at ₹4.69 lakh with six airbags, a 10.25-inch screen and a digital cluster as standard.
  • Engines and motors are untouched. The entire update is cabin, kit and trim names.

Tata redrew its smallest car, renamed every trim, and left the engines alone. The cleverness is hiding in the price list.

Tata relaunched the Tiago and the Tiago.EV on 28 May, and the update is closer to a generation change than a facelift. The old XE-to-XZ+ alphabet is gone, replaced by the Smart, Pure and Creative ladder Tata is standardising across its range. The petrol car opens at ₹4.69 lakh with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a digital driver's display, rear AC vents and six airbags as standard; the CNG car follows from ₹5.79 lakh, and the electric twin from ₹6.99 lakh with the familiar 19.2 and 24kWh packs, good for 226 or 285 kilometres on the Indian test cycle. Engines and motors carry over untouched. This update is all cabin, kit and naming.

The axler8 recommendation engine scored all 24 new variants the day they entered its dataset, and two of them share one number worth noticing. At ₹6.99 lakh, the Tiago Creative is the only car under ₹7 lakh, out of all 1,446 variants we score, with a 360-degree camera. And at the same ₹6.99 lakh, the Tiago.EV Smart is the cheapest electric car on the entire list. One price, two cars, two completely different bragging rights.

Small car, big refresh, and the receipts are already in the data.
