Blind spot monitor, blind spot detection and blind spot warning are brand names for the same thing: radar sensors in the rear bumper detect a vehicle beside or behind you and light a warning in or near the door mirror, often with a sound if you indicate. A blind-spot view monitor, as Hyundai and Kia call it, is different: it shows a camera picture of the blind spot on the instrument cluster when you indicate, but does not detect or warn by itself. The radar system works without you looking at a screen; the camera gives you a clearer picture but only if you look.
