DC fast charging

A DC fast charger bypasses the car's onboard charger and feeds DC power straight into the battery, at anything from about 25 kW to over 150 kW depending on the charger and the car. Carmakers usually quote the time from 10% to 80%, because charging slows as the battery fills; the car's own peak rating, not the charger's, sets the ceiling.

Matters if you drive long distances between home charges; for daily city use, AC charging covers most needs.
