Displacement is the total volume swept by the pistons in all the cylinders, in cubic centimetres (cc) or litres; 1,197 cc is sold as a 1.2-litre engine. A bigger engine usually makes more power but uses more fuel, though turbocharging lets a small engine match a bigger one. For GST, a small car has a petrol, CNG or LPG engine up to 1,200 cc, or a diesel up to 1,500 cc, and is no longer than 4,000 mm.
