Lane keep assist uses a camera to read the lane lines and gently steers the car back if it starts to drift over a line without the indicator on. It acts only when you reach the edge of the lane; it does not keep the car centred all the time.
Useful on long highway drives, but it needs clear lane markings, which many Indian roads do not have.
