Mild hybrid (smart hybrid)

A mild hybrid has a small battery and a starter-generator that switch the engine off at stops, restart it and add a little help while accelerating. It cannot drive the car on electric power alone, so the mileage gain is small. Maruti sells this as Smart Hybrid.

axler8 lists mild hybrids under Petrol or Diesel, not Hybrid, because they cannot drive on electricity.
