A PDI is a check of a new car before you accept delivery and sign the delivery note: paperwork and VIN, body and paint, tyres, fluids, electrics and a short drive. Dealers do their own PDI; you can also do one yourself or hire a third-party inspector, ideally before paying the final amount.
