Running cost per km is what the car costs you to drive each km: mainly fuel or electricity, plus servicing, tyres and insurance spread over the distance. For fuel alone, divide the price of a litre by the mileage in km/l; for an EV, multiply the price of a unit (kWh) by the energy used per km.
