Zero depreciation cover (nil dep)

In an ordinary claim the insurer deducts depreciation on replaced parts: 50% on rubber, plastic and batteries, 30% on fibreglass, and an age-based share on metal parts. A zero depreciation add-on pays the full cost of replaced parts instead, usually for a limited number of claims a year and often only for cars up to a certain age.

Worth most in the first few years, when parts are expensive and the car is new.
