  • Skoda's fastest car for India is a seven-seater: 265 hp, 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds.
  • The first batch is 50 units, fully imported, in one loaded spec.
  • The price will only be announced at launch. Informed guessing says ₹50-55 lakh.
  • The regular Kodiaq already starts at ₹36.99 lakh with the same body and boot.

A 265hp seven-seater you book on faith, at a price Škoda will name later, in a batch the size of a wedding guest list.

Bookings for the new Kodiaq RS open on 22 June, with the launch expected in July. India's allocation arrives as a full CBU import in a single, fully loaded seven-seat spec: a 2.0 TSI making 265hp and 400Nm, a seven-speed DSG, all-wheel drive as standard, and a claimed 6.3 seconds to 100km/h on the way to 231km/h. Škoda calls it the fastest car it has ever sold in India, and it is the first of its SUVs here to wear the RS badge. Twenty-inch alloys and bucket seats complete the costume. The first batch is capped at 50 units, and the price will only be announced at launch; the informed guessing says ₹50-55 lakh.

The axler8 recommendation engine cannot score it yet. The old Kodiaq RS left the dataset when it was discontinued, and this one earns its row back once it has a real price. Not that the maths would be kind: the regular Kodiaq has just relaunched from ₹36.99 lakh with the same body and boot, which would make the RS a rumoured ₹15 lakh premium for 61 extra horsepower and red calipers. This is the enthusiast import in its purest form: fifty cars sold on scarcity and a stopwatch, booked on faith before anyone names a number.

The engine doesn't have opinions. Mine is already in the queue.
