AdBlue is a urea-and-water solution that some BS6 diesel cars inject into the exhaust to turn nitrogen oxides into nitrogen and water, in a system called SCR. It goes in its own tank, is used up gradually and must meet ISO 22241. If it runs out the car can refuse to restart: the Kia Seltos warns 'Refill urea' first, then will not restart once switched off.
