Airbags

Airbags are fabric cushions that inflate in milliseconds in a crash to stop your head and body hitting hard parts of the car. Indian rules require two front airbags, for the driver and front passenger, in every new car; six airbags are not compulsory but are now common. Airbags work with the seatbelt, not instead of it.

The count matters less than the crash rating, but six usually means side and curtain airbags are fitted.
