Since 22 September 2025, small cars (under 4 m long, with a petrol, CNG or LPG engine up to 1,200 cc or a diesel up to 1,500 cc) pay 18% GST and other cars pay 40%, with no separate compensation cess. Electric cars pay 5%. GST is already included in the ex-showroom price.
