LED, projector and halogen headlamps

Halogen headlamps use a filament bulb and give a yellowish light; LED headlamps are whiter, more efficient and last longer. 'Projector' refers to a lens that focuses the beam with a sharp cut-off, as opposed to a reflector; how far and evenly a lamp lights the road depends on its design, not only on the bulb type. Matrix or adaptive LED units can switch off parts of the high beam to avoid dazzling others.
