Toyota refreshed the Innova Crysta for 2026. It still won't sell you an automatic.

Diesel-only, manual-only, a wireless charger as the headline upgrade, and it'll still outsell cars trying ten times harder.

  • The 2026 Crysta is diesel-only and manual-only. Toyota still will not sell you an automatic.
  • The new kit is a wireless charger and a tyre-pressure monitor. That is the whole update.
  • Prices rose ₹32,000 to ₹83,000, to ₹19.72-26.63 lakh ex-showroom.
  • This is reportedly its last refresh before the model retires in 2027.

While the rest of the showroom chases hybrids, sunroofs and ever-bigger screens, Toyota's plan for the 2026 Crysta was to change almost nothing.

Toyota launched the updated Innova Crysta on 5 June 2026, priced from ₹19.72 lakh for the GX to ₹26.63 lakh for the ZX, ex-showroom. Mechanically it stands perfectly still: the same 2.4-litre diesel making 150hp and 343Nm, driving through a five-speed manual, and only a manual. The "new" is cosmetic and small, a revised grille and chrome garnish, dual-tone seats with copper accents, refreshed switchgear. The genuine additions you can count on one hand: a wireless charger on the VX and ZX, a tyre-pressure monitor on the ZX. Prices are up ₹32,000 to ₹83,000 over last year.

That is the whole update, and it is exactly the right one. The Crysta was never built for the spec-sheet shopper; it is built for the operator. The tour driver, the eight-seat airport run, the family that covers four hundred kilometres before lunch and would rather not think about it. Those buyers want diesel torque, an indestructible reputation and a gearbox they trust, not a feature they never asked for. The plush petrol-hybrid Innova Hycross is the modern one. The Crysta is the one the heartland keeps buying anyway.

And this, reportedly, is its last refresh before the model retires in 2027. In an industry that reinvents itself every six months, Toyota's boldest move was to leave the one car that already works almost completely alone.
