A CNG car runs on compressed natural gas stored in a high-pressure cylinder, usually in the boot, and can also run on petrol. CNG mileage is quoted in km/kg and the running cost per km is usually well below petrol, but power is lower on gas, the cylinder takes boot space, and filling stations are fewer outside big cities.
